How to buy, store and exchange cryptocurrencies using Aximetria
Cryptocurrency has become one of the main talking points lately, with stories of people becoming millionaires through a couple of fortunate investments, entire countries’ populations turning to digital assets in a time of their national currencies plummeting down into an abyss and world’s biggest companies actively investigating and integrating the blockchain technology into their workflows.
Still, despite the fact that virtually everyone who spends at least an hour a day on the Internet has heard of the cryptocurrencies, many people are still wary of getting involved. What they need to take that step is a convenient, one-stop service that is fully secure and, perhaps most importantly, legal.
Aximetria provides exactly that, and so much more.
Let’s get started!
First off, you will need to download our app — it’s already on the App Store and will soon be available on Google Play.
Set up an account
Simply type in your name, surname and your e-mail address to set up an account. Once your account is created, you can set up additional security measures, similar to most banking apps out there. Set a 4-digit PIN code or use Touch ID. We’re always working on expanding the app’s functionality: for instance, with our recent release, you can use Face ID to access your account.
You don’t have to verify your account to use the Aximetria app, but in that case, the functionality available to you will be quite limited. You will only be able to create a cryptocurrency wallet and use it to receive, store and send cryptocurrency assets.
If you do decide to take the full advantage of what the Aximetria service has to offer, the verification isn’t daunting, and if done right it should be processed within just 24 hours. Simply navigate the app to Settings submenu and tap on ‘Verification’. It’s done in 3 stages.
The first stage is your general information: your name, surname, date of birth and country of residence.
The second stage is all about your photo ID. You will need to type in your passports’ number and upload a photo of your document’s ID-page along with your selfie with the document, opened on the same page.
Finally, in the third stage, you will need to upload a proof of residence, which can be any document that has your name on it as well as your address, such as a recent utility bill.
We collect this information in order to comply with the strict Know-Your-Customer and Anti-Money-Laundering (KYC/AML) regulations, formulated by the Swiss financial regulator FINRA. This is done to ensure that our clients and their blockchain assets are operating fully within the legal framework.
Once submitted, the review of your application will not take more than 24 hours. After the approval, you will be able to top-up your crypto wallet via a bank transfer and credit/debit cards. Most importantly, you will be able to issue an Aximetria plastic card, which can be used to spend your crypto assets anywhere in the world where Visa cards are accepted, including ATMs.
Making a deposit
Once you set up an account, your first Bitcoin wallet will be automatically created for you. You can always create additional wallets to store any cryptocurrency supported by the Aximetria. And you get to name each one of them so that you don’t mix them up!
If you wish to top one of your wallets up, simply press the Receive button and choose your preferred method. If you’re a verified user, you will be able to buy Bitcoins, Ether or any other tokens supported by the app and send them to your wallet via your bank card.
Those who are not verified can top-up their wallets from a third-party cryptocurrency wallet, provided they already have one. For this, you can either copy your Aximetria wallet’s address or simply scan the QR-code provided for you.
Normally, cryptocurrency transactions are almost instant — it takes around 10–20 minutes for the funds to appear in your account. However, at times, depending on the particular cryptocurrencies’ network congestion, this process can take a little longer.
We take the protection of our clients’ funds extremely seriously. Every single wallet generated for you in the Aximetria app is a cold storage wallet, which means that you and only you have access to your funds. Additionally, we’ve protected our service with means of post-quantum cryptography designed to withstand brute force attacks from a quantum computer.
