Environment: On Monday evening, I arrived this town, Kohtla-Jarve. It’s a quiet and beautiful town. The town does not have a University on its own. There is a branch of the Tallinn Tech University. And the most courses available at this campus are engineering.

Business: The town is an industrialist; mining and electric power plants, etc.

People: According to Wikipedia, the population is only 35,928 — Jan 2016. Most people are quiet and helpful.

K-Jarve Symbol (“Au toole”)

Houses: Most buildings are from uncle Stalin’s era.

Language: Citizens of K-Jarve speak in Estonian and Russian. So far, most people I’ve come in contact with spoke in Russian because the majority of the citizens are Estonian/Russian. Even though they were born in Estonia, their first language is Russian. They’re proud people. The young people speak in Estonian, fluently , as a second language. However, the state language is Estonian.

Surroundings: Johvi is only nine km away from K-Jarve and it’s a beautiful and modern town. It’s a business town. There are many business opportunities there!

Would I recommend? Of course. If you want to relax and take a break from the big cities like Tallinn and Tartu. And want to learn Estonian and Russian languages quickly. K-Jarve is for you.
