Axon Joining the Tutor Matching Service Team!

It’s fitting that our last post of our Spring 2016 Blog Series packs a surprising punch. Today, I’m excited to announce that Axon has teamed up with Tutor Matching Service (TMS) based out of sunny Florida.

This is a big step for us. Since Axon launched at UGA, we’ve been figuring out the best and most efficient ways to provide personalized tutoring for college students. For us, that meant finding the most qualified tutors, developing online tools for them so they can focus on teaching, and creating a seamless booking experience for in-person tutoring sessions across college campuses.

When we discovered Tutor Matching Service, we instantly recognized a friend within our space. TMS launched back in 2009 and has since become the official partner to over one hundred universities and colleges for their tutoring needs. What has made their approach successful is their strong focus on the tutor experience coupled with their in-depth understanding of universities and how to best help them create a safer and more affordable tutoring service.

With Axon’s focus on the user experience and TMS’ focus on university needs, it became clear that this would be a good fit for our team. It also gives us the opportunity to tap into the solid infrastructure that the TMS team has built. More importantly, Axon will continue serving all of our users by bringing tutors great tools and giving students a way to instantly book a tutor when they need help.

We wouldn’t be here without all the support we’ve received from our tutors, students, investors, and the entire Athens entrepreneurial community. To celebrate this, we’ve created a quick snapshot below of how far Axon has come in the last 20 months.
