I am black and I was raised by a white family, completely embedded in white rural society in the UK. Since I was the ONLY one, I was allowed to grow up peacefully….hell I didn’t even know that the word ‘Nigger’ meant ME until I was sixteen!
I was seen as no threat, a little girl, what harm could I do?
I have, therefore, seen white society from the INSIDE. I have even ‘succeeded’ in white terms, but I have never been blinded by my mind to what my soul had seen…..that white people are TERRIFIED of becoming the ‘Nigger’, the bottom of the social structure. As long as they have another identifiable group to keep below them, then they have an illusion of security.
Capitalism cannot function WITHOUT the ‘Nigger’, the slaves at the bottom that HAVE to exist to prop up the status quo of inequality.
Through various means (in spite of ALL the disadvantages) black people have gradually, painfully slowly, gained a toehold on the ladder and a lot are climbing out of the hole. I only lament that they do so by buying into the same system that enslaved them.
This leaves poor whites as the ‘Niggers’……enter Trump.
