Shopping and Shipping Services to look forward to trying (if you haven’t already)

Thanks to technology, anything we want can now be acquired with just a few clicks and taps. At times, we don’t even have to pay full price in one go.

It’s a big world and there is so much we have yet to see and experience. You think you’ve seen everything, and then there comes another trending topic, item or idea. Suddenly you feel like you’ve been living under a rock all this time.

The world of e-commerce is no exception.

Online purchases usually undergo the usual browse, add-to-cart then checkout process. Then your package arrives in a plain brown box. As business owners and consumers, traditional online shopping methods have the possibility of waning if you don’t step your game up.

What if I told you it was possible to go grocery shopping without bringing anything but your phone with you? Who wouldn’t be excited about a package that will arrive — by DRONE — within 30 minutes of placing an order? There are sites dedicated to “life hack” and innovative products to make everyday life so much easier.

Amazon Go

A grocery shopping experience with no lines and no checkout? Count us in! “Enter the store, take the products you want, and go!”. Okay, obviously the stuff isn’t going to be for free, since they’ll be charging everything you take to your Amazon account. After all, nothing is free in the world anymore.

The convenience brought about by this service is a major blessing to those of us always in a rush.

How we wish we could get away with this at Target or Wal-Mart. So far, only one store is open in Seattle, and only Amazon employees have access to it — for now.

Amazon Prime Air Drone Delivery Service

Once this delivery option is fully launched, air traffic will actually start being a thing.

Who would’ve thought autonomous flying –DELIVERY — machines would make a debut this early?

As of now, the drones can only carry packages that weigh 5 pounds or less, within a 15 mile radius. This upgrade will not only save Amazon some shipping costs, it will also cut down our waiting times. Users will need a customized Amazon-branded landing mat the drone can use as a guide. Pretty soon we can start expecting little helicopter/planes to make landings on our backyards.

Walmart’s Pick-Up Grocery service

Part of the reason why we dislike grocery shopping are the long lines at checkout. With Wal-Mart’s grocery pickup services, consumers need only drive to select stores to claim the groceries they ordered online. Wal-Mart has reportedly been expanding its grocery pick-up option in more than 500 branches nationwide.

As convenient as this seems, maybe it’s just my old-fashioned self speaking, but I still really enjoy the full and traditional grocery shopping experience.

Monthly Subscription Boxes

For $10 or less you’ll have monthly surprises delivered to your doorstep. Whether you’re a makeup enthusiast, a bookworm, a sock collector or just want to receive something random, there’s a subscription for you.

Sure they may come in plain boring boxes in the mail, but opening the actual package themselves are a whole ‘nother story.

Underrated, Innovative and Undiscovered

I recently came across The Grommet, as site that sells unusual yet very practical items. While browsing, I even found a contraption smaller than my folding umbrella that unraveled into a portable stool.

So many online businesses thrive, thanks to drop shipping services offered by various companies. It’s no longer mandatory to have all the stocks you sell on-hand. Small businesses don’t even need permanent physical locations to function. Share your crafts and products to the world on platforms like Etsy, Café Press or Storenvy.

Don’t the things you find online daily just amaze you?
