“I wanted to come just in case I don´t get to see him perform again due to what´s happening with the Cartel Sinaloa” said Natalia Martinez.

The Jalisco New Generation cartel (CJNG), which is the primary opponent of the Sinaloa cartel in Tijuana and other regions of Mexico, appears to have taken offense with Peso Pluma’s provocative songs.

Peso Pluma was warned to postpone his coming performance in the city of Tijuana, México on October 14 by four handwritten posters with the initials CJNG that simultaneously appeared in various locations of Tijuana. The posters warned Peso Pluma harshly that if he went on with the concert, it may be his last because of his “disrespectful and loose tongue” behavior.

Peso Pluma continues to be one of Mexico’s most adored young stars despite these dangers. With an extensive following on websites like TikTok and more than 50 million monthly Spotify listeners, his fame is growing around the globe. As part of a new generation of musicians that are reviving the “narcocorrido genre”, he has also played at known occasions like Coachella and the MTV Video Music Awards.
