Life is like a race. Everyone here, in this world, has set small goals to achieve. It is the desire of every person that he can have a platform where he can explore himself and make earnings for his better life style. And for this, Job is necessary stair for him.

After completing the degree, everyone has a wish to get his dream job as early as possible. To get a good job, there is a horror gate from where everyone has to pass through. And this horror gate is the interview. The reason to say it horror is that, If someone is unable to cross this gate in his best way, He can be rejected with his 16 or 18 (may be more then this) years of his best grade qualification.

To solve the problem to cross this horror gate, me, along with my fellows visited two HR persons(Muhammad Usman Siddiqui, certified human resource professional manager recruitment and selection, UMT and Mian M.Shafique, manager admin & personnel, SUPER CRISP) and tried to have some tips that how we can do it in best of our potentials.

It was an exciting experience to know about their views regarding an excellent candidate. The first and foremost thing, which was focused by both of them was that, they wanted a well-mannered confident, fully prepared and passionate person for the job. On the other hand, both of them highly discouraged rude attitude, lack of confidence, and non-upgraded resume. They also discouraged short term experiences as well because they think, it reflected that you can not stay at a job for a long time, as it makes you tired. The experiences shown on resume should not be less then 3 years. They were also agreed with the point that the hobbies and interests does not matter at all on resume as no one has enough time to study them for you.

A major difference was also there between the thinking of both HR persons. HR PERSON AT EDUCATIONAL SECTOR:

Verbal communication matters 80% while non verbal accounts 20%.

Greetings by using name looks rude.

Qualification matters more then the experience.

Qualities like teamwork, event management, leadership etc does not matter a lot.

HR PERSON AT INDUSTRIAL SECTOR:

Non-verbal communication accounts more then the verbal.

Greetings by using name seems nice.

Experiences and links matter more then the qualification.

Qualities like teamwork, event management, leadership etc matters a lot.

The takeaway of the interviews that we had, was very much informative as it showed a difference to us about the thinking of HR managers at two major sectors of job. Now, we have a better idea about it and we can use it in our future life as well…
