Project # 1: Sharing a story of your mentor

“Mentorship is the key to extraordinary success”

“Mentorship is a learning and development partnership between someone with vast experience and someone who wants to learn”. The mentor may be older or younger than the person being mentored, but she or he must have a certain area of expertise.

As, it is stated that “Behind every successful person, there is one elementary truth: somewhere, somehow, someone cared about their growth and development, this person was their Mentor”.

For my extraordinary career, I’ve been fortunate to have a great mentor who was willing to take me powerful guidlines and provide meaningful opportunities for my growth. He has not only taught me about what is important (both personally and professionally); they have also given me several big breaks. My mentor is my closest uncle Mr. Iran Ahmad Qureshi. He is very friendly, kind hearted, hardworking and sincere with my career and future growth. I have a deep relation with him from my childhood while, he is working in a stable professional level in pharmaceutical company. So, I think he can better guide me and provide me some piece of advices /suggestions related my career planning. Now-a-days, He is living in Saudi Arabia but I contacted him with him on Skype call. Before taking some time, I was set some goals to achieve from his experiences.

My Goals:

i) I want to know about some secrets to increase my position and create good reputation in front of boss.

ii) I want to know mostly what problems employers faced during working in private firms and how they handle them.

iii) I want to discuss with him my future plans.

My Experiences:

I discussed with him some important questions:

i) How I can develop my good reputation in front of boss/company head?

They said: the one key of success to create good reputation is “hardworking”. When we put our extra efforts in any work it shows, it shines and made us more prominant.

ii) In case, I will found difficulty in managing my heavy workload in duty hours then what I can do this?

They said: No, doubt heavy workload is present in every company. You should to do work on managing her load in better way. You should do practice in routine works of managing work by following time table.

iii) Please share with me your experience what problems you are facing in your firm and what struggles you are doing to increase your promotion chances?

They said: You know I am working in pharmaceutical company. I am facing many problems of doing work in out of my country (Saudia Arabia). I want to impress my boss with my talents and hardwork but can’t create prominant position in front of boss. I think, we should do work only to our betterment, enhancing our experience but not to impress others because it is very rare when your boss may satisfied from you perfectly.

My learning:

I learned a lot from my his experiences and also showed humility to him while taking his advises. I think humility is very important to learn from your mentor which made a strong relationship and perfect learning environment for us. I tried my best to follow his suggestions in my real life.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
