Reading Festival 2017 is gonna be fun, isn’t it?

This weekend is Reading Festival. The first one I went to was in 2004. This is what the lineup looked like…

I was 16 years old at the time and it was the first time I was allowed to go to Reading (missing that amazing 2003 lineup by a year), but Reading 2014 was fucking awesome. It was the only time I got to see The Distillers and I remember just being taken aback by the scale of the whole place at the time. I’d only been to smaller festivals like NASS at the time, but going there from Wednesday-Monday was a life-changing experience.

I’ve never had the pleasure of playing Reading/Leeds, but I’ve attended both over the years in various roles and this year I’m DJing the Guest Bar on the Saturday with my great pals Jack and Rhi (who I haven’t seen since last Reading Festival!).

I’m super excited to see a bunch of great bands over the weekend. With some deliberation, I reckon my 5 must see bands on each day of the weekend are;

Friday: Oh Wonder, Jimmy Eat World, Boston Manor, Billy Talent, Arcane Roots

Saturday: Marmozets, Sundara Karma, Casey, Defeater, Tigercub

Sunday: Liam Gallagher, Architects, Sløtface, Fizzy Blood, Gnarwolves

I’d also love to see stand up from Bill Bailey, Simon Amstell and Rob Delaney if I get the chance, and I could not be more excited for great tunes and hangouts with friends I haven’t seen in ages.
