But, Where is Tahiti located?

The French Polynesian island, Tahiti is nestled in South Pacific Ocean between California and Australia. It has over 100 island scattered throughout

What makes this island so amazing?

Tahiti is like a rainforest paradise surrounded by the bluest, clearest water you’ve ever seen. Pristine beaches, colorful reefs teeming with fishy friends, and dramatic green mountain peaks.

It’s straight out of a storybook!

Extraordinary crafts exist, but I’m not sure I have seen any that compare with those of Tahiti, woodcarving is an important art form in Tahiti. They are known for their expertise in weaving, using pandanus leaves, coconut fibers, and ni’au (coconut palm leaves) to create beautiful baskets, hats, and mats.

Ever heard of the name “Tifaifai” me neither, it is a quintessential Tahitian craft, which refers to hand-sewn bedspreads adorned with vibrant patchwork patterns.

Aside culture, the people of Tahiti are skilled navigators for many centuries. They used the stars, ocean currents, swells, and weather patterns to navigate vast distances across the Pacific Ocean.

Did you know that Captain James Cook’s expedition to observe the transit of Venus from Point Venus actually occurred in Tahiti in 1769. A significant scientific advancement that helped scientists to calculate the distance between the Earth and the Sun.

Part of Tahitian’s cultural heritage is it’s museum “Musée de Tahiti et des Îles” filled with an amazing yet beautiful collection of pearls, artifacts , artistic expression like sculptures, tapa cloth , feather work and other collection that represents Polynesian life which also include Objects reflecting the natural world, including plant and animal specimens.

Tahiti is all about pure, unspoiled beauty absorbing the sights with different adventures like Snorkeling, hiking, surfing, sailing,Jet Skiing ,Kayaking, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), and more.

Where is Tahiti located

This island is like a peaceful escape from reality where you can just be . Well I may have never actually been there myself, but isn’t Tahiti the kind of place we all dream about? A lush, isolated nirvana to truly disconnect from the daily chaos.

However, with my discoveries and a dash of imagination,I learnt that Tahiti has a sweet sister beyond. In just 60 minutes away is “Bora Bora,” known as the pearl of the Pacific.
