Why are YOU “The One”?

Quavo and Chance know they’re the one’s’

Anyone who makes the decision to follow their hearts and live on their own terms will testify to the heavy assault of self-doubt that follows that decision.

This assault is well intentioned, it’s a tool your ego uses in an attempt to keep you safe, and it’s also the first test of your resolve.

It comes in many forms, but it’s preferred method is questions, questions that will force you to take a second look at your decision,

And you will have to provide answers to these questions if you want to make any progress.

One particularly crippling example of these questions is “what gives you the right to think you can be what you want?

And it’s a legit question, because in a world of seven billion people you are nothing particularly special, you’re unique yes, but that means next to nothing if it can’t be expressed in a way that’s relevant

What gives you the audacity to think you’re doing something worthwhile?

In truth, the answer is nothing, there’s no outside validation, and on an objective scale you’re not doing anything remarkable, you’re just choosing a lifestyle.

But then we live in a world of multiple truths, the above statement is just one truth, another truth is that YOU make what you’re doing special.

So does Justin Bieber

I believe that “God” speaks to us through the things we find interesting, through the desperate longings present in our hearts and the only one who knows these longings is you.

That fact makes you a “prophet” of some sort, a guardian of your own personal message given to you by God or Life or whatever you call it.

And if you look back through history, you’ll see that people who decided to take on their roles as prophets of their own messages, faced these moments of intense self-doubt,

The only way they got through was by faith, though that faith was based on an external deity.

Your faith though has to be based on more than a feeling, it has to be based on your intrinsic human ability to adapt to various circumstances,

It has to be based on the effort you put into making your dreams a reality and on how smartly you work,

It has to be based on the fact that you define what success means, not anybody else.

And this faith is earned, it’s won by the choices you make, and the attitude you maintain. You can even say you make your own faith.

And Weezy, though I doubt he ever doubted

This idea has various practical applications, apart from facing self-doubt, it can be applied in every day issues,

In my current stage in life, I can apply it to improving my social skills, e.g. approaching babes I find attractive even though I’m scared as shit of rejection,

I can apply it to growing professionally, in the form of chasing my curiosities and learning skills that will help me express my unique strengths even though the whole world is screaming at me to go down the normal 9–5 path.

I can apply to those moments of self-doubt and laziness — when work gets tiring and all I want to do is mess around — by reminding myself that boredom and frustration will be visiting me frequently in my journey to re-create myself.

I can use this truth to create a model of thinking where I’m motivated to be the source of the solutions I need, rather than look outside to some savior for help.

This is not to say advice is bad, but any help I can get is useless if I do not actively participate in my growth.

Same goes for you, you’re definitely not on the same stage of development as I am, were not even walking the same paths, we’re just meeting each other at this moment in time.

Still I’m certain thinking this way will help you, when the demons of self-doubt and resistance come knocking.

Now it’s your turn.

Following your heart, breeds resistance, when this resistance comes, don’t fight it, rather, let it serve as a reminder that you are the decider, the prophet of your dreams and only you can deliver your message to the people it’s meant for.

You’re the final decider, you’re the one.
