Has your Google Chrome Browser font changed unexpectedly? Everything goes smoothly on browsing online but the moment the font size increases or decreases suddenly, it destroys our mood. Well if this is the case, I have outlined some actionable steps that you can take right now on your Windows PC or Android phone to make this issue disappear forever.

How to Fix if the Google Chrome font size suddenly changed

First, in a nutshell, here are the steps that I’ll recommend you to follow:

  • Open the Google Chrome Font Settings and change it
  • Fix Browser Font Text Size under PC’s Settings
  • Use a third-party Font Extension
  • Reset your Google Chrome Browser Settings

Fix 1#: Open the Google Chrome Font Settings

You or your little ones may have tinkered with the Google Chrome Font Settings which may make the front size look worse. To make sure the browser front Setting is in the right condition, follow these steps:

1. Open the Chrome Web browser and select a three-dot icon at the top right end of the screen.

2. Scroll down and unpack the Settings option, look for Appearance, and click on it.

3. On the new section, make sure the Font Size is Medium and click on the Customize fonts option. From there, select Times New Roman under Standard and Serif font. Choose Helvetica under Sans-serif font and Menlo under Fixed-width font.

These are the Settings that you should change and see if the changes reflect on your browser by refreshing the webpage. In case your browser Settings matches with the above or it doesn’t have any mess, go further:

Fix 2#: Fix Browser Font Text Size under PC’s Settings

The Windows Settings on your PC may be the offender of such an issue. If the font Setting is fine on the browser but disrupted on the Windows computer, you have to fix it.

1. Open the Windows Settings or press the Windows and I buttons simultaneously.

2. Look for a section that names Accessibility and unpack it. Under this menu, select Text Size.

3. You’ll get a slider that you can drag to change font size, on dragging the slider towards left or right the section Text size preview will show the font size as you move the slider.

4. Once the text size you opted for matches your desired size, click on the Apply button (at the right side of the slider).

Fix 3#: Use a third-party Font Extension

If on your Browser, except for some specific web pages, the rest of the ones are not showing the front at the worst size, then you may need to think of installing a third-party extension that can change the font Settings on that website according to your preference.

Fonts Changer extension belongs to one of them. Here’s how to add and use it on your Google Chrome browser:

1. Head to Chrome Web Store, search and install the Fonts Changer extension.

2. Click on the extension icon at the top right corner of your browser and pin the extension you have added.

3. Now launch the webpage that shows odd fonts and click on the Fonts Changer extension that’s pinned.

4. On the prompted menu move to the slider, select font according to your preference under the Standard Font section and that’s enough.

Go back to the website and relaunch it, the font error should be fixed.

Fix 4#: Reset your Google Chrome Browser Settings

Does the problem persist? As a matter of fact, firing up unauthentic sources on the browser may flow malicious code or glitches around it, or adding an extension that you no longer use can make your Browser font changed unexpectedly.

Hence the best workaround in this scenario is, resetting your Chrome browser to its default settings:

Note: It is recommended to save your browsing history or additional kinds of stuff before resetting If necessary

1. Open the three dots icon on your Chrome browser and select Settings

2. Under Settings, click on Reset Settings, and then Restore settings to their original defaults.

3. Once you confirm the resetting option one more time, the Chrome browser will be as it was when you first used it.

Now, let the browser get reloaded and use it to see if the issue exists or not.

How to Fix if the Browser Font changed unexpectedly on Android

Chrome is not only available on Windows, there are mobile users who also have this browser installed by default and the same error can disrupt their browsing experience. So if you have the same weird font problem, follow these troubleshooting points:

Check your Chrome Accessibility Settings

This same Settings we have checked above on Windows Chrome, let’s do the same on your Android phone:

1. Open Chrome and tap on the top right icon (three dots icon) and select Settings.

2. Scroll down and tap on the Accessibility option, Now adjust the font size by moving the slider. You can see the changes under the Preview section.

Check If your Chrome Browser is Updated

When was the last time you updated this browser? No answer? Well, to check for the update, open the Play Store, search the Chrome browser, and select it.

If you get an update option, make sure to update it otherwise if there’s an open button leave it as it is.

Now, after scrubbing on the browser’s Settings and checking for Update if you get the same exotic fonts or texts, clear the browser’s cache and if this doesn’t help, reinstall the App.

Fix your Google Chrome’s Front Size

So these are the ways of how to get rid of font size suddenly changed on Google Chrome. Whether you use a Windows computer or an Android phone, follow the steps accordingly and see how it goes.
