Regarding your alt version, re: #1, and the rich still have the means to overcome their bad decisions, and only the baddest of bad decision bankrupts them. They can make three bad decisions a day and after a year, it really still doesn’t matter. With the poor, that kind of compounding would probably lead to incarceration. And re: #2, again, wasting the earth’s resources? Like they’d give a shit. Their decisions on the environment don’t hurt them, they hurt everyone else.
