“Adult” has changed throughout history.

Legally Married or age at which a person was expected to be working by was 12 - 14

16 is considered “Adult” in many cases (Maryland if Pregnant).

Adulthood appears to be fungible.

Would it have made a difference to you if I posted (which is the same point I had made):
