Seven Lynchburg city schools have reached full accreditation

Seven of Lynchburg’s 16 public schools are now fully accredited. The city learned the news when Virginia released accreditation results Wednesday, September 13. School administrators hope to have all schools accredited within the next three to four years.

Former Lynchburg library director passes away

Longtime Lynchburg library director Lynn Dodge died of brain cancer Tuesday, September 12. Dodge worked for the library for 39 years before retiring in 2013. The library’s new story time room is named after Dodge.

White supremacists attempting to recruit on college campuses; fliers found in Lynchburg

A white supremacist group has been recruiting college students who call the city of Lynchburg home. Fliers belonging to Identify Evropa: a hate group that gained publicity following recent unrest in Charlottesville; were found on the campuses of Liberty University and Lynchburg College this week. Spokesmen from both schools report that the fliers have been removed.
