Something I have said for years was that society wants to punish monsters but society refuses to take responsibility for creating those monsters. I first started to come to this conclusion when I got interested in the Manson family murders. And as I continued with my fascination of serial/mass murders and cult murders; it became clear that we create our own monsters and then persecute them for being monsters.
