East Kilbride Cricket Club’s Nayma Sheikh has jetted off to South Africa with the Scotland squad for the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup — and she will be making a bit of history in the process this weekend. The team is competing in the inaugural event and will become the first Scottish women’s team to compete in a World Cup event.
Moon Mughis Sheikh told the news –
“Nayma is very excited and really looking forward to this World Cup — so much so that she wants to make a mark by being the player of the tournament. As a mother I am already proud of Nayma. Being a cricketer myself, I Know that making it to the World Cup is already a big achievement.”
“We will be cheering him on throughout his World Cup and wishing him well in achieving his goal.”
