Rain

It was as cloudy as it ever gets,
dark, billowing emissaries of rain flocked the horizon.
standing in front of the twilight window
a lonely gust stole my unaware solitude;
and then, under the swaying witnesses of maple leaves
right inside the cusp of shadows of an unmoving tree,
our memories beckoned.
The downpour washed the earth away that night.
