Just like the writers are paid for their other works on the Medium. When you write on Medium with a partner program, your stories are eligible for payments as per the views, claps, and reads. When you write for any publication, your stories are available for payments just like your self-published stories are.

The program is not available in India unfortunately, and I am aware that Medium did mention that the partner program is going to be launching in these countries soon.
