Methodology:

Answerthepublic.com creates visual reports of searches (appending key words with question or proposition words). I went through key terms for NowSigns, selected relevant questions, and made suggestions for how our copy can address those.

Visualization for vinyl search results in the US

Relevant questions to vinyl:

  • Which vinyl windows are the best?
  • What vinyl to use on water bottles/ glass?
  • Why vinyl wrap car?
  • How vinyl wrap works?
  • Are vinyl windows toxic/ safe?
  • Are vinyl windows paintable?
  • Are vinyl decals waterproof?
  • Are vinyl floors toxic/ safe?

Recommendation:

  • On product pages, state our vinyl is nontoxic, not paintable over, and waterproof (if true)
  • If not paintable or waterproof, add that to disclaimer

Relevant questions to decals:

  • Who prints/makes/sells wall decals?
  • How to install/ apply decals?
  • How to remove decals from car?
  • What can decals stick to?
  • Are wall decals tacky?
  • Are decals reusable/easy to remove/ permanent?
  • Are decals bad for car paint?
  • Are decals waterproof?
  • My decals won’t stick?

Recommendation:

  • Emphasize reusability/removability of decals
  • List what surfaces decals will and will not stick to
  • Use verbs print/make, install/apply

Relevant questions to vehicle wraps:

  • Are vehicle wraps cheaper than paint?
  • Are car wraps legal?
  • Are car wraps durable?
  • Are car wraps removable?
  • What resolution for vehicle wraps?

Recommendation:

  • Explain the difference and advantages of vehicle wraps over paint (perhaps as a blog post)
  • Emphasize removability (ability to change it) as an advantage

Relevant questions to signage:

  • Where is digital signage used?
  • What is signage and wayfinding?
  • What signage is required for construction sites?
  • What signage is required for retail?
  • Why we need signage?

Recommendation:

  • Clearly, signage and wayfinding are jargon and therefore not the most searchable terms
  • Under the menu hierarchy I made, the “Business solutions” section which included business scenarios should have construction site (real estate development is already there) land retail laid out

Answerthepublic.com is a really great site that let’s marketers (and anyone) basically read the minds of the public at a macro level. Since these are the most common questions searched, we should address them directly to make the connection between consumer and us explicitly easy.
