I have decided to start a blog. This decision can be traced back to an even more important, earlier decision. Earlier, about three weeks ago, I decided that I was finally going to identify as a writer by profession. I had used school as an excuse to put off pursuing my dreams for many years. I was tired of it.
So, for three weeks now, I have been taking part in a jump-start project. I have been writing at least 1,667 words a day (often more) to be sure I reach 50,000 words by the end of the month, and hopefully the end of a novel as well, a la NaNoWriMo.
You see, my main problem is getting the words down. I usually find some reason or other not to write, out of fear, out of obligation. But starting three weeks ago, that is not true anymore. In a week, I will have the first draft of a novel.
And now, I have a blog.
P.S. It’s going to start with some free writing. Be forewarned.
