More people might get to enjoy battling supernatural Nazi forces with Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics coming to consoles in November. The game is an adaptation of an original and popular tabletop RPG created by Modiphius Entertainment. And it was developed and released on Steam for the PC by Auroch Digital in October 2018.

It’s a mixture of turn-based strategy and RPG elements as you command an elite group of allied soldiers in an alternate history of World War 2. As often happens in these things, the Nazis occult interests have led to them summoning Lovecraftian monsters (American author H.P Lovecraft famously created the Cthulhu mythos around a fictional cosmic entity, widely referenced in film, TV and a range of tabletop and video games).

So expect plenty of monsters to challenge your team. Only Charlie Company can foil the Nazi plans. And your squad is made up of a suitably representative group of nationalities, each with special skills.

Captain Eric “Badger” Harris is a British Intelligence operative who specializes in experimental weaponry and guerrilla warfare; Ariane Dubois is a French Resistance member who’s bonded with a demonic spirit creature that she can command on the battlefield; Corporal Akhee “The Eye” Singh wields a sentient amulet that can transform him into a whirling cloud of blades; and Sergeant Brandon Carter is a loud-mouthed American soldier with a medallion that imbues his signature Thompson submachine gun, with mythos-fuelled bullets that can tear through the Nazi’s horrifying creations.

“We always wanted to make a game that combined our love of strategy and Lovecraft,” said Nina Collins, Producer at Auroch Digital. “Modiphius presented the perfect opportunity with the original tabletop game, and we were delighted to have the opportunity to adapt it into a video game. We’re thrilled for console players to finally see what all the fuss is about.”

Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics will be available for the PlayStation 4 in North America of November 20th, and Europe on November 21st. It’ll also be released on Xbox One on November 23rd. And it’ll cost £19.99 / €24.99. The Nintendo Switch version will follow at a later date. It’s published by Ripstone Games.
