At Sundown is currently available as a four-player demo via Steam agead of a full release later in Spring 2018. It was already tipped as the ‘One to Watch’ at the 2016 BAFTA’s and a winner at the Microsoft 2016 Imagine Games Awards. The full release will be across the PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, but only lucky PC gamers can try out the action already.

At Sundown

The concept is elegantly simple. It’s a 4-player online and local deathmatch arena game. The twist is that it takes place in darkness, so you’ll only spot your enemies when they shoot, dash or walk into a light source. Meaning that you can be sneaky before risking an all-out assault on someone.

At Sundown has been created by indie developers Mild Beast Games and is being published by Versus Evil. The full version will have a wide variety of different weapons, with 11 available at launch. They’ll include blades as well as guns, so you can use different approachs and tactics. And there will also be multiple maps, with different light mechanics in play for each location. Plus you’ll have the option of co-op modes against AI opponents and two-player head-to-head games as well as the four player gunfights.

At Sundown 2

The PC demo out now gives you 4 of the launch weapons to try in two locations from the final game. So you can play in a selection of maps from the Garden and Mansion levels against other players or bots to see whether you want to invest in the game when it gets a full release.

“Mild Beast Games have a created an award-winning multiplayer formula that totally hooks players from the outset. At Sundown has been a real crowd pleaser at events like PAX, where it won players over with its superb 4 player party set up. We’re really excited to announce the games’ cross-platform launch, which underlines our commitment to bringing out the best in our indie partners,” commented Versus Evil General Manager Steve Escalante.
