When you’re focused solely on “finding” your passion, you’re only thinking about yourself. If you shifted your focus on developing skills and abilities for the purpose of helping others, you’d begin to have a very passionate and purposeful life.
Until we start giving grades for resiliency, curiosity, agility, resourcefulness, pattern recognition, tenacity, and having a passion for products and customers great grades and successful entrepreneurs have at best a zero correlation (and anecdotal evidence suggests that the correlation may actually be negative.)
… we hold on to them and try to make sense of tomorrows world by looking at it through today’s lens. The disruptors are the ones who learn from the past but don’t hold on to it; instead forging ahead and creating whole new business models, customer segments, industries, product categories.
