The problem with Euron is that unlike the other Villains in Westeros, he’s like a comic book villain, cartoonish almost. He doesn’t seem to have believable motivation, he’s absurdly overpowered at this point, and his entrance was even like a comic book entrance in a show that has focused on creating relatable and/or logical villains (Ramsey, while ridiculous, was ridiculous as a crazy person, Tywin Lannister a cold-blooded but reasonable man, Cersei with her bruised pride lashing out at enemies, etc.). There’s no rules for Euron, it seems, he can just sneak onto a ship in the middle of a fleet going to pick up the entire dornish army, kill everyone, then leave with his prizes. It’s absurd. It doesn’t fit, and while it might get better in later episodes, there’s not a lot of screentime to make us feel like Euron belongs in this particular TV show. It’s dumb.
