The years which I worked as a digital marketer taught me one thing: end user is the king of the whole social media community. Every each of them running their own kingdoms and we, digital marketers, are the citizens of every kingdom. Create impressive ads, design impressive visuals, manipulate their fingers to click, make their hearts flick. Impress the king!

The process of impress the king taught me another thing and I shocked: Our king doesn’t know what he/she wants. At the beginning of 2014, I noticed that our king lives like Joffrey Baratheon, killing angry birds as he wishes, bullying brands with sadistic feels, rules the kingdom with instant claims. So, I decided to work like Cersei Lannister. Don’t need to impress the king, just whisper him to manipulate. I did that for a long time and I provided 650K+ new user subscriptions to several social media startups which I worked for.

After that milestone, my focus changed and I focused on the marketing of IOT products, in early 2016. Those days there was a gap on the ecosystem, there was no global pattern on user interfaces of IOT products. I’ve designed two social media interfaces before because no one else could design in two of those startups and those interfaces used by 60K+ users. So, I decided to try to design IOT interfaces and my UI design journey began.

I started to prepare for another role to impress the king: Margaery Tyrell.
These two disciplines worked well together. I knew how to gain users and I knew how to welcome them with design. But, there was a huge gap between them. I always knew there is a huge discipline called UX and I decided to fill the gap with my own way. I filled the gap with my digital marketing experience and my estimates. I did this approach for 2 years and my UX estimates evolved to UX Design knowledge. But, there is a “but”.

But, UX Design deserves more respect, I think. It’s a comprehensive discipline and it’s basics are not nice-to-know-things, every each of them compulsory to know.

So, here we are. I will dive deep into the discipline and I will share my notes as Medium posts. There are too many subdisciplines at UX. I separated the subdisciplines as 31 different titles and I’ll go one by one. Also, I will use spesific tools for UX every each step and share my thoughts about them.
Let’s start!
Welcome to my journey.
