On June 21st, 2017 His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa appointed H.E. Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa as the new ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America.

H.E. Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla has actively participated in political and social affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with a longstanding career that started at the Royal Court and continued to his role as Governor of the Southern Governorate in 2010. The program has transformed into a national program, sponsored by the National Anti-Drug Committee of Bahrain, of which Shaikh Abdulla is a member.

His education and experience in the United States has aided his skill-set for a role in foreign affairs. H.E. Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Management along with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Bentley University, Waltham, MA. Shaikh Abdulla received academic credentials from the Harvard Kennedy School focusing on “Innovation in Governance” as part of the university’s Executive Education Program. “It is the greatest honor and privilege to serve the Kingdom of Bahrain in Washington DC, a unique city renowned for its political history and global influence. The Kingdom has had a long-standing and fruitful friendship with the United States, and as we seek to strengthen matters of mutual interests and overcome regional challenges, I intend to bring our two nations closer by expanding on all spheres of our bi-lateral relations,” H.E. stated.
