Bahrain Association of Banks to hold annual reception in Washington

The Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) announced that it has begun preparation to hold its annual reception for Bahraini banks on October 8, 2016 at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC.

The event will be organized on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

A high-profile Bahraini delegation comprising of leaders from the financial and banking sectors, led by Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), Rasheed Al-Maraj, will attend the reception.

Guests will also include central banks’ governors, finance and development ministers, senior private sector officials, academics, managers of sovereign wealth, assets and hedge funds, along with senior officials of insurance and multi-national companies.

CEO of the Bahrain Association of Banks, Dr. Waheed Al-Qassim, said that the reception is aimed at shedding light on the financial services sector in Bahrain, and will highlight available investment opportunities to attract more international financial institutions to Bahrain as a center for their expansion plans.

The reception is part of a promotional campaign promoting investment incentives in Bahrain, in line with the government’s policies to attract more regional and global investments to the country. Dr. Al-Qassim extended thanks to BAB members in Washington for their support in assisting efforts to implement the strategy devised by BAB’s board of directors.
