Bahrain Elected Deputy Chair of WHO Executive Board

Bahrain, represented by Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, was elected Deputy Chair of the 139th session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization, which was held in Geneva on May 30–31.

The minister extended sincere thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier for their constant support and sound directives to improve health services in the kingdom.

Al-Saleh also noted all of the efforts by the Health Ministry to serve the nation. She affirmed that the post is the culminating achievement of the Health Ministry’s success in delivering outstanding services for citizens and residents alike.

The 139th WHO Executive Board session elected Malta’s representative as Chairman, while representatives of Bahrain, China, Nepal and the USA were elected deputy chairpersons.
