HM the King welcomes NSSA role

HM the King receives National Space Science Agency CEO Dr. Mohamed Al-Asiri

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa welcomed the role of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA) in conducting researches and studies and developing competencies towards serving Bahrain’s orientations and consolidating its standing.

This came as he received at Al-Sakhir Palace NSSA CEO Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Asiri, who outlined key achievements over the past period. Dr. Al-Asiri briefed HM the King about NSSA steps to build national space science competences through cooperation with agencies and renowned scientific research institutions.

In addition, Dr. Al-Asiri stressed particularly cooperation with the UAE Space Agency under the MOU that was signed between the two countries on the sidelines of the 2016 Bahrain International Airshow.

He also shed light on planned future projects that will contribute to enhancing the services, which are provided by various government departments. HM the King commended NSSA’s plans and future projects and praised the progress of multi-phased training as well as efforts to consolidate cooperation with the UAE to achieve the desired goals.

Dr. Al-Asiri highlighted growing interest in space science and technology in the region, stressing the vital importance of this scientific and technological field in spearheading industrial progress and economic development.
