Tamkeen Relaunches Basic Skills Certification Scheme

Tamkeen, a main driver for sustainable economic development in the Kingdom, has relaunched its successful Basic Skills Certifications scheme, designed to equip Bahraini citizens with crucial skill sets for future employment.

The program has been relaunched as part of Tamkeen’s ongoing efforts to provide Bahrainis with the core skills that will make them the employee of choice and build their technical capabilities throughout the stages of career development.

The newest edition of the Basic Skills Scheme is open to all licensed training providers to participate. In addition, it introduces a wider selection of certificates aimed to offer program participants more skills sets from which to benefit. In addition to the new scheme’s process and structure, it has become fully automated, allowing users the ease of online access. The new program is open to Bahrainis 16 years old and above.

Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, Tamkeen’s Chief Executive, praised the revamped scheme and its benefits. He said, “Tamkeen is proud to bring back the successful Basic Skills Certification Scheme, as part of Tamkeen’s continuous efforts to create opportunities for Bahrainis to develop their employability skills in order to make Bahrainis the employee of choice for semi-skilled and skilled professions.”

Employability skills included in the Basic Skills Scheme include language and communication, numeracy, information technology and basic professional certifications. When registering, users will be able to select from a list of Tamkeen-quality training providers based on the skills preferred by participants.
