Using Visual Breaks & Storytelling
I was asked to annotate a custom video tutorial on “Using FB Ad Manager”-for the purposes of in-house training as well as an informative tool for clients. I considered this to be a challenge in story-telling- keeping the dialog clear and simple, breaking down important elements using headings and visual breaks to further help communicate the message.
Using screenshots of the actions in the video was important to guide the user and aid in recognition.
After sketching and a few iterations, I produced the following draft:
The video did not clearly express ‘why’ the user would use this information or what the benefits were after using it. I took the liberty and added these sections to the dialog to complete the story.
