NFL Record? With $90 Million Over 12 Months, Aaron Rodgers Will Be Near №1 Across All Sport
I read NFL Record? With $90 Million Over 12 Months, Aaron Rodgers Will Be Near №1 Across All Sports, an article I found on Forbes’ twitter. Written by Kurt Badenhausen, the article covered Aaron Rodgers signing a four year contract extension with The Green Bay Packers. This extension will earn him $90 million in the next 12 months. This means he should make his way onto the Forbes Highest Paid Athletes list, he was just shy of last year. Rogers only earned $21.1 million and the cut off was $22 million. The last time Rogers made Forbes’ list was 2015, when he ranked number 95 at $19.1 million. Earning a whopping $90 million should put him up there with athletes such as Lebron James and Tiger Woods. But it won’t quite put him as high as athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who will top the list.
What does this mean for Green Bay? For the National Football League? Although Rogers is a two-time NFL MVP who is entering his 14th season, I can see this paycheck causing turmoil. Other Green Bay players may demand more money. Using this much for Rogers could even cause pay cuts for his teammates. Other NFL quarterbacks may then demand a higher contract price from their team. It definitely raises the bar for NFL contracts. I found this article on Forbes’ twitter, in a forum of “Record Breaking NFL Contracts” you can view here: https://twitter.com/Forbes/status/1035530549459337216 .
