Tik-Tok On the Clock For Kesha
Lawsuit Against Producer Denied
Tik-Tok on the clock is a relevant term for pop star Kesha Rose Sebert as she waits out her contract with producer Dr. Luke, who allegedly had been emotionally and sexually abusing her since she was 18 and mainpulated her career.

For the last 10 years Kesha has been in a contract with Dr. Luke and that entire time she claims she was being sexually, physically, and verbally abused, and in October of 2014 filed a lawsuit against him in order to get out of her contract with him.
Lawsuit
Not only is Kesha suing Dr. Luke but also her mother is suing because she claims that Dr. Luke caused Kesha to suffer posttraumatic stress disorder from all the abuse he put her through. Kesha revised her suit earlier this last summer that included Sony Music, which housed Luke’s Kemosabe Records where Kesha signed to a six-album deal. According to Los Angeles Times Kesha claimed they “failed to take any corrective action, or actively concealed Dr. Luke’s abuse.” The suit blamed Sony Music for allowing her producer to continue ruining her career by not taking action about him.
Sony got recieved a letter from Kesha about her wanting out of her contract and they rejected her proposal and told her not to go any further with this claims about Dr. Luke.
But of course she was going to continue to fight it.
After Kesha filed a lawsuit, Dr. Luke fired one right back claiming defamation and breach of contract. According to Los Angeles Times he alleged that they were outlandish claims to extort money and get out of her recording and publishing contract early and that the singer’s stalled career and legal woes are all her doing.
Which is false because the reason her career is at a stand still is because she refuses to work with him, and she’s unable to make music with anyone else until she’s out of her contract.

Injunction Denied
Kesha’s case just recently went to the New York Supreme Court on February 19, 2016 and the court ruled agianst her request for a preliminary injunction that would release her from her contract with Dr. Luke and Sony Music Entertainment.
Apparently sexual and physical abuse to women in the music industry is common enough that it’s asking too much to try to get out of a contract with a vindictive and evil man.

There is something very messed up in that court room if the judge can’t see that this man is ruining Kesha’s career and his abuse led her to an eating disorder where she had to go to rehab.
#FreeKesha
After the word got out about Kesha’s injunction being denied all kinds of fierce women pop stars started tweeting and using the hashtag #FreeKesha which made in uproar on social media.

All these powerful women tweeting about Kesha’s case is a great way to get it out that Dr. Luke is a bad person and that the court is wrong about their decision, because the more that people keep this #FreeKesha trend going the more it’s going to help her case and hopefully help her career go in the direction she needs.
Any kind of abuse towards women or men is wrong and it needs to be known that whether it’s a celebrity or just a regular person; people need to support the cause so there can be more progress to try to stop it so cases like Kesha’s don’t continue to go unknown and people don’t continue to get away with it.
