Thank you for starting this curious exploration, Jonathan. This piece seems to tie in with Alain De Botton’s book Status Anxiety (currently reading through it), and I think he does a fairly good job of how we got to this stage and how we’ve come to assume these imaginaries.

Also, I wonder if the old Greek ideas of mythos and logos might inform imaginaries and logics in some way? Or perhaps I’ve not understood the ‘imaginary’ concept properly.
