I can totally relate to everything you have written. As a late starter (at 35) myself, I have fallen head over heels in love with ballet, yet I find myself fighting an uphill battle every day as I age. I do believe though that our passion and commitment will take us ever closer to our dreams. Dance on, my friend! And may the pirouette be with you and me ;-)
