Giotto: “The use of public blockchains will make private financial enterprises irrelevant.” I am an enemy of the middleman too. But since Bitcoin’s inception, we have learned that the middleman’s debacle will be more nuanced. Hybrid sort of junctures between public and private blockchains are in our future (and the future of private banks). Gradually, new figures of middlemen will emerge (collators, fishermen, validators, nominators — better they than certain new predatory crypto exchanges). But private banks will go to bed with public chains and survive the ordeal. We won’t see their fall into irrelevance in our lifetime.
