So, I’m totally sold on the need for distraction free devices. To the point that, as an aspiring writer, I was an early backer of the Freewrite.
While that product performs as advertised, I personally have a non-linear writing style, so the Freewrite’s lack of arrow keys is crippling.
Because of this, I was very excited when I first heard about the reMarkable. It looks like a very beautiful and capable device. I can definitely see myself handwriting on it, and the strong functionality as a sketchpad and e-reader would be wonderful.
I don’t always want to write longhand, though, and touchscreen keyboards just don’t stack up to physical ones. I read another comment that asked about external keyboards, and saw that they weren’t currently planned.
This was disappointing, for as tempting as the other features are, the majority of my envisioned usage is for writing, and I have a hard time justifying the purchase as-is.
So I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in to say that the inclusion of physical keyboard connectivity (either wireless or wired) would earn you a sale.
