It was inaugurated in the year 1970 by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The museum is divided into three section archeological stuff, Ethnography and Gifts offered to Al Ain National Museum. Archeological section belongings have shreds of evidence dated back to late 5000 years of the Mesopotamian age found in Jebel Hafeet. AL AIN ZOO

AL JAHILI FORT AL AIN
The biggest castle in Al Ain is Al Jahili Fort. It represents the local military and architectural history of UAE. The construction of the fort started in the year 1891 by Sheikh Zayed the First and was completed in the year 1898. The location of the fort was well thought off, as it was near to water resource and the farming area too. Over the time the fort was almost discarded due to the creation of new forts. But in 1950, British reestablished the fort due to its strategic location. The fort is divided into east,west,north and south wings. North wing is devoted to the photographer Wilfred Thesiger and is called “Bin London and Freedom of the Desert”.
