Why Do We Hurt the Ones We Love?

I believe the reason we hurt the ones we love the most because we develop a strong level of comfortability with the people we love. When you fall in love you allow yourself to be completely comfortable with that person and eventually with time you both show your true colors. After the honey moon stage in any relationship, its hard not to hurt the person you are constantly with. Love is something both parties have to put effort in. In the short story, “A Temporary Matter” I believe their relationship was destroyed because they both lacked communication. When something so traumatic happens in a relationship its necessary to communicate with one another instead of acting like nothing ever happened. I believe if Shoba and Shukumar would have sat down and expressed their true feelings from the very beginning, they could've saved their marriage.

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
