I hear you. That’s partially why I used the disaster prep analogy. There are things you can do. Just like fire drills there are data drills you can run. Simple questions you can ask yourself: if google goes out of business, do you have access to all your correspondence? If apple shuts down iCloud, do you have your photo memories? Does any one company have a comprehensive view of your actions or is it distributed? The big picture threat is rather big and ominous and scary like climate change, but you don’t need to start there. Start with the basics and take lots of deep breaths and don’t think you have to figure it all out immediately.
