I’ve been dealing with this stuff, personally and professionally, for many years.

Here’s what I’ve concluded:

the operating definition for morality is the golden rule — treat other people the way you would want to be treated.

when it comes to influencing others, see above — the research indicates that people seeing how you behave, will be influenced to some extent or another — it’ the most powerful way people learn.

consequently, the way to influence others is by stepping up. do what you think is right.

it seems to me that these days people feel very helpless they don’t feel there’s anything they can do to change things.it’s this helplessness that is a huge part of the problem. there ARE things people can do. like paying close attention to political nomination processes, showing up, asking questions, giving opinions.

stepping up.
