I guess what I’m thinking about is the difference between work and play. I guess I was very lucky — I found an area of work/study that I loved — it wasn’t in the arts — that had lots of aspects of reading and writing to it. So really, it was never work. Just play.

Then again, I never made a lot of money at it — but it was enough. I started out as a poor student, and found that I liked that kind of life just fine..
