to me, ‘acknowledging what happened’, as you say, is the same as identifying as a victim, for NON recovery people. and then, as you say, moving on.

I’m a retired psychologist and have done a lot of counselling but NOT with substance abusers, for various reasons. it’s good for me to understand something about how things work in that field.

speaking of blaming victims, are you familiar with the ‘just world’ hypothesis? it’s interesting as hell..
