I can relate.

We were having guests from the island of Curacao over the Christmas holidays.

I love to buy gifts at this time of the year and I was looking for a non while Cabbage Patch doll for each of the 4 year old, dark skinned , twin girls who would open this thoughtful gift on Christmas morning.

As luck would have it, I began shopping in August.

After visiting at least 10 different toy stores and department stores within a 50 mile radius of my home, I had to order on line.

SMH!

I don’t even know if these little girls noticed the faces were brown, but I am glad I was able to get the dolls.

By now, they have long outgrown them and are now into boys and dancing.

In my heart, I am proud of being able to reinforce their reality, not mine.
