I enjoyed the take on the media by John Oliver. It was hugely informative and funny.
MSM is the propaganda machine which creates and enforces the consumer mentality.
A kindergarten teacher taught this concept to my children in terms they could understand. Unfortunately, there are far greater influences on children as they grow, including their parents. (I have long been immune to the hype but their father is not).
Another function of the media is to spread lies about what is happening in the world. This is done to justify the expenditure of millions of dollars to further enrich the wealthy.
It also aids in the justification of destroying millions of innocent people and the earth. (Remember weapons of mass destruction?)
The media is also effective in preventing its consumers from knowing what is happening in other parts of the world when to do so is politically expedient.
I suppose someone does not want to offend our sensibilities.
The media called the results of a primary election TWO DAYS before the votes were cast in 6 states.!!!!!!
Now, you might believe the decision to make this call was based on remarkable clairvoyant skills of a reputable journalist.
You might argue that this deceptive advertising is business as usual.
You might even argue that the candidate for whom the media prostitutes itself somehow is the most qualified for the job.
There is clear and convincing evidence that the media, owned by 6 major corporations, is little more than a propaganda machine for the wealthy.
Of course, I believe there are people in the industry who have integrity and are immune to the pressures from above.
Some have died for their efforts to tell us the truth.
Some have had their careers ruined for failure to conform.
I believe these might be some of who are referred to as “conspiracy” mongers.
For this old woman, media has no cred.
I subscribe to the old adage…”Don’t believe anything read, suspect everytging you hear and believe only a fraction of what you see.”
