‘Beyond the Borders,’ Black Lives Matter Rally in Palos Hills, IL
I got the call from an ex-sheriff in the area that found out from the local paper that the Black Lives Matter organization planned to march down our local street. The social grapevine in this neck of the woods is beyond Facebook or Twitter. In fact, I’m pretty sure you mention social media to these ladies and they’ll ask their grandkids before answering. Around here, it’s all about the senior citizens relaying feedback they heard from other seniors who got their information from the area newspaper. …
I once did a search for myself online and found not only was I a famous author but I was also a grandmother! Wow! Who knew considering I don’t have kids.
My name is very common and I am sure if you did some research on yourself you ran into this issue too. You have the same name as many other people out there. It doesn’t mean you are them or that you cloned yourself to become them. It just means you were one of the lucky ones.
Did you get tied in with a serial killer with the same name as you? Are you finding others taking your hard work and making it their own just because you have the same name as they do? …
New Year, New Goals — make this year all about your writing!
“Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.”
— Louis L’Amour
If writing were easy, everyone would be a famous published author of some kind. That’s not the case. Though I think everyone can and should write doesn’t mean everyone wants to. For me, writing is a way to find your thoughts in print. Ideas that would otherwise be ensconced in your head. …
He doesn’t see it as stalking or anything other than his version of love. He says he knows what’s best for me. He never defines his relationship with me. He doesn’t hear me. He doesn’t listen to me. He believes he is trying. He finds me no matter where I go. He is right there no matter what. He is in my every thought. He is there at my every turn. He is my stalker.
This is my story from over two decades of experience in the hands of someone that doesn’t want me but won’t stop until he gets me. It is NOT love. It is NOT lust. …
Finding my way, finally!
Over a year ago, I decided to return to school. Everyone and I do mean everyone, said to me, “not again!” Yet, I knew I needed to go back. I felt it. Nothing I tried was working and the job hunt was getting worse instead of better. I thought I had a course mapped out, I thought I could find my way without the increasing debt of school hanging over my head. I should say additional debt from student loans hanging over my head. I already tried this before with going back to school in hopes of finding work that suited my passions, but no that hadn’t worked either. Even though I already had enough debt from school weighing me down in my job search options. And I do mean my job search options because once you find a job you might love and enjoy it had better cover the mountain of student loans culminated over the years that also includes the interest piled on top of that. Yep, all in all… I have been screwed for a really long time! …
How to find it & What the heck to do with it once you do find it.
Ideally, we want to be inspired. We want that ah-ha moment of revelation, where we see the world in a way that not only do, we see inspiration, but others do as well. Preferably, our thoughts are brilliant and everyone else is holding their breath for the chance to witness our words put to paper. When we write a piece, someone comes along and goes… WOW! You are an amazing treasure and your words are pure gold!

Welcome to the frustrating, constantly changing, completely evolving, never the same world of SOCIAL MEDIA. You either love these changes or you jump ship right away and let someone else deal with it. That’s it. That’s how it works. I’m not sugar coating it for you. Love it today, hate it tomorrow. …
