Your trenchant points are not lost on me, but I find your piece devoid of kindness and generosity. I’m sure Ms Streep spent time considering what incident to highlight that would most incisively point out Donald Trump’s basic lack of decency. It was a speech at an award ceremony, not a policy discussion. I feel disheartened when people use their space to attack other people who agree with them on important issues. You could have made the same points in a much kinder manner, perhaps even offered gratitude to a fellow traveler on the road to justice and inclusion.
