Eat that Frog with a Pomodoro:
The title is actually a kind of proverb having a very different meaning. When someone says this, he means to do a task in a very special way. That typical way is called Pomodoro. It revolves around division of time and task along with breaks to complete a whole task.

Basically, the Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980’s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. It’s a method to fight your procrastination in order to become more productive to maximum limits, and to know the secret of getting things done timely and perfectly.
Time utilization is way more important for daily life. Everyone of us has equal time. So, it is purely on us that how we utilize it and make it productive. The methodology of this technique is discussed in form of steps which are as follows:
- Decide on the task to be done
- Set the pomodoro timer (alarm) to 25 minutes
- Work on the task until the timer rings. If a distraction pops into your head, write it down, but immediately get back on the task.
- After the timer tings, put a star (or a tick) on a piece of paper.
- Take a short 3–5 minute break.
- Repeat steps 1–4
- After you have 4 ticks on your paper, you can take a longer break (15–20 minutes), and continue working on your task by going to step 1 until you complete your task.
Pomodoro Challenge:
I took the Pomodoro challenge as per instructions of the Amal’s online course. I am going to share my experience with you. When I set the timer first time I couldn’t focus fully as I am in the habit to get myself involved in the distractions. While working, I was distracted just again and again. Just after 8 minutes I glanced at the timer again and again that how much time has left. Then I peeked at the timer after 13 minutes and then after 18 minutes. So, these 25 minutes were so stubborn. I felt like the time has stuck somewhere. When timer buzzed after 25 minutes I felt very relieved. “oh…!! 25 minutes passed, now it’s time for a break” maximum 5 minutes.
Simply, if you have completed the above cycle for 4 times at-least, you have earned the right to take a longer duration break. Now, you can relax a little bit but don’t become too lazy that it becomes impossible to return to the task. After the break, re-continue your work till it is completed.
Lesson which I Learned:
The biggest achievement was that hectic work was done in a very easy way. The best part of this is that you are relaxing after doing work in small portions. Small works with regular breaks not only makes it easy but way more interesting too. I am pretty hopeful that I and the readers of this will try their utter best to follow this mechanism and accomplish all those tasks.
