Job interview is the first step for entering into a professional life. For a successful interview we have to meet some recruiters to get some know how about the interview preparation. So HR managers play a very important role in every person’s life that is pursuing a job and want to start a professional career.

Experiential learning is a way of learning in which we learn from an experienced person who can guide us in best possible manner about specific purpose. So for this purpose we planned to meet an expert Dr. Zulfiqar Gill HR manager of AARI industry to have guidance about interview skills . It was a wonderful journey of meeting him.

It was first time for each member of our AMAL Circle to experience such a challenge. We were a group of students, we contacted her through call and planned a meeting with him. He was a kind and passionate. We asked him a lot of questions but we get equipped for this interview keeping #Extramile concept back in our mind.what is the importance of being real in an interview for her? Is degree more important to her or passion during recruitment of individuals? Why we hire you?”. Why we hire you?”. If a person doesn’t have considerable experience, but really passionate to work with, so would you prefer that person?

Dr. Zulfiqar Gill give another very important information that there are two types of interviews,

1) Private Sector Interviews (these interviews are goal oriented and achievement oriented)

2) Government Sector Interviews (these interviews are skill oriented. They will ask about your interests, skills, e.t.c)

He motivated us to focus on technical skills.

The main takeaways from this activity:

  • Difference b/w interview in public and private sector,
  • How to behave there and how to prepare for both of them & in addition to passion
  • You should have command on your field, although your passion matters a lot but the importance of experience and knowledge can never be neglected

Now, some tips from Dr. Zulfiqar Gill

  • You should be serious with your life and career. HR can easily judge that you are serious or not with your future
